During her mid-20s, Blessing - a young Nigerian woman, like her peers, wanted to have a career, marriage and children. But misfortune never knocks the door before entering, and her activenormal life was hit by a life-threatening disease with severe uterus related complications. At the age of 26, Blessing was diagnosed with massive Adenomyosis which is normally treated with removal of the uterus. From a family friend, she got to know about India’s expertise in a high-end procedure to get rid of such long-suffering. Finally, she landed in India and underwent a successful lifesaving OSADA procedure at BLK Super Speciality Hospital. The procedure not only conserved the uterus for future pregnancy but also helped her to get rid of pain and trauma which the disease had caused from last so many years.

For 38-year-old Blessing, getting fully treated with OSADA procedure comes as a miracle - a new life with renewed hopes. The patient was suffering from the disease for more than 12 years and had undergone a procedure as well, back in her country, which didn’t provide any relief but worsened her pain. The patient was always in pain and could not sit straight which affected her spinal cord severely.

Post consultations, Blessing was admitted in the Hospital under the observation of Dr. Dinesh Kansal, HOD & Sr. Consultant, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, BLK Super Speciality Hospital.

She was diagnosed with large Adenomyosis of uterus with a size of about 28 week’s gravid uterus. She was explained about all possible modes of treatment including Hysterectomy, which would have cured her of the disease. But since she was determined to save her uterus, and it was then that she was explained about OSADA procedure and its associated risks. A highly experienced surgical team led by Dr. Dinesh Kansal successfully performed the high-end OSADA procedure.

Post operation, Blessing recovered well in five days, and was discharged in a normal condition. Today, Blessing is having her normal menstrual cycles and is healthy enough to conceive a baby in future.

OSADA procedure is a new hope for those women who suffer from Adenomyosis as it offers dramatic reduction in Dysmenorrhoea, Menorrhagia and allows women to preserve their uterus for future conception.
